Chapter 14

“Please make sure you come around for dinner again,” Etta said, waving us off from the front porch. William and Spencer stood beside her, hands in their pockets as they nodded us goodbye. Spencer winked at me, and it wasn’t missed by his stepbrother who pulled me tighter into him, a smirk on his face as he threw a look back at Spencer.

“We will. Thank you so much for a lovely evening,” I smiled, warmth spreading through me as we turned and started walking back.

Grayson’s hand held my waist, his fingers digging in slightly but not enough to hurt my wound. The air had a slight warmth to it, and it was peaceful, walking in the dark. I could hear laughter and noises from houses in the estate and for the first time in a long time, I felt like I could breathe.

“I told you she’d love you,” Grayson remarked, a smile on his face. I looked down at the ground, finding my feet really interesting. My own revelation still playing in my mind, and I suddenly found myself shy around him, like we were on a first date or something.

“Your family are truly amazing, Gray. You’re very lucky.”

“Hmm, that I am,” he agreed, hand squeezing tighter. “I have you.”

I tucked a stray piece of hair behind my ear, as I mumbled, “That’s not what I meant.”

Grayson stopped walking, abruptly halting me too. We were just inside the gate of Reed’s personal residence as he turned to me, warm tattooed hand cupping my cheek.

“You’re fucking everything to me. I’ll fucking kill anyone who dare touches you. Do you understand me?”

I nodded, my eyes locked on his as his green eyes danced with emotion.

“I mean it, Blair. I’ll burn the whole fucking world down to ash if I have to. You’re ours, now and forever.”

I bit my lip as tingles shot through my body at his words. I leaned up onto my toes and kissed him, my arms wrapping around his neck. He kissed me back deeply, and I could feel his erection pushing against my hip. Argh, how much time did the doctor say to avoid strenuous activities?

Grayson pulled back, cupping my cheeks and resting his forehead to mine, eyes closed. “Sleep in my bed tonight, please.”

“Okay,” I whispered, wanting to just touch him and be close. He took a deep breath before pulling back.

“We need to stop before I push you up against the nearest tree and fuck you so hard that everyone in the estate will hear you scream. But then, Dr. Picard will have my bloody head.”

I laughed, disappointed but hurting none-the-less as the pain killers and wine started to leave my system. “Alright, Gray. Come on.”

We walked the driveway until we reached the steps. I looked up in surprise as I found Reed standing at the top, waiting for us.

“About time you got back. I’ve got a surprise for you both,” Reed smirked, taking in our appearance, “You got to bond the normal way, now come bond the way you do best.
